Present Around The World (PATW) Competition 2019

“IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network” organized Present Around The World (PATW) Competition on April 26, 2019 at COMSATS Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus. Director (CUI Abbottabad) was the Chief Guest of this Competition.

There were 3 Judges, 10 Presenters and 100 Attendees. Miss Misbah Yousaf from Biotechnology  Department won this Competition while Mr. Saifur Rehman from Electrical Power Department was the Runner-up. Event was supervised by Dr. Jawad Saleem (IET OnCampus Facilitator) and organized by Team-IET.

Event "Queen Bees" SP19

IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network organized "Queen Bee" event for the Girls of CUI Abbottabad on April 27, 2019. In which, each team need to do some specific task, games and have to answer some quizzes.

IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network organized "Neoteric Engineers" for the students of CUI Abbottabad on April 29,2019. In which, each team was directed to develop a Motor Powered Car with the raw material provided to them in a time frame of 75 minutes.

Workshop On LateX (1 CPD Point)

Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering has organized one day workshop on LateX (1 CPD Point) in collaboration with Pakistan Engineering Council & Team IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network on May 4 2019.

 The workshop introduced the audience to LaTeX tool and present practical tips required to create professional articles (papers, reports) in LaTeX. 


 What is LaTeX? 


LaTeX is a high quality typesetting system. It includes features designed for the production of technical and scientific documentation. LaTeX is the de facto standard for the communication and publication of scientific documents. LaTeX has a few advantages over MS Word when it comes to specific document types. It has unparalleled stability when it comes to large documents (theses, books, or technical reports) with many cross-references, tables, graphs and sections. It is platform-independent and software independent.

 Instructor

Dr.Hazrat Ali was the Instructor of this workshop.He is Assistant Professor at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus. At CUI, he is a member of the signal processing research group. He is also the course head for Digital Signal Processing course. His research interests lie in unsupervised learning, generative and discriminative approaches, and speech and image processing. He has successfully conducted training workshops on Machine Learning, and workshop on LaTeX.

Dr.Shahid Khatak, Chairman Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering was the guest speaker of this workshop.

Students from COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus & Students from different universities of Pakistan have participated in this workshop.


At the end of workshop certificates of appreciation were distributed between the participants.
