“IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network” organized Present Around The World (PATW) Competition on April 26, 2019 at COMSATS Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus. Director (CUI Abbottabad) was the Chief Guest of this Competition.

There were 3 Judges, 10 Presenters and 100 Attendees. Miss Misbah Yousaf from Biotechnology  Department won this Competition while Mr. Saifur Rehman from Electrical Power Department was the Runner-up. Event was supervised by Dr. Jawad Saleem (IET OnCampus Facilitator) and organized by Team-IET.

Event "Queen Bees" SP19

IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network organized "Queen Bee" event for the Girls of CUI Abbottabad on April 27, 2019. In which, each team need to do some specific task, games and have to answer some quizzes.

Event “Neoteric Engineers” SP19

IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network organized "Neoteric Engineers" for the students of CUI Abbottabad on April 29,2019. In which, each team was directed to develop a Motor Powered Car with the raw material provided to them in a time frame of 75 minutes.

Workshop On LateX (1 CPD Point)

Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering has organized one day workshop on LateX (1 CPD Point) in collaboration with Pakistan Engineering Council & Team IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network on May 4 2019.

 The workshop introduced the audience to LaTeX tool and present practical tips required to create professional articles (papers, reports) in LaTeX. 


 What is LaTeX? 


LaTeX is a high quality typesetting system. It includes features designed for the production of technical and scientific documentation. LaTeX is the de facto standard for the communication and publication of scientific documents. LaTeX has a few advantages over MS Word when it comes to specific document types. It has unparalleled stability when it comes to large documents (theses, books, or technical reports) with many cross-references, tables, graphs and sections. It is platform-independent and software independent.

 Instructor

Dr.Hazrat Ali was the Instructor of this workshop.He is Assistant Professor at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus. At CUI, he is a member of the signal processing research group. He is also the course head for Digital Signal Processing course. His research interests lie in unsupervised learning, generative and discriminative approaches, and speech and image processing. He has successfully conducted training workshops on Machine Learning, and workshop on LaTeX.

Dr.Shahid Khatak, Chairman Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering was the guest speaker of this workshop.

Students from COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus & Students from different universities of Pakistan have participated in this workshop.


At the end of workshop certificates of appreciation were distributed between the participants.

Present Around The World Phase-I & Phase-II (PATW-I & PATW-II)

“IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network” organized Present Around The World Phase-I (PATW-I) Competition on March 28, 2018 at COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus.
     The main objective of this event was to give opportunity to the students of COMSATS Abbottabad to show their skills in presentation. It was a professional platform for the students to show their abilities of what they can present and show their abilities towards the modern technologies.
Director (CUI Abbottabad Campus) was the Chief Guest of this Competition.

There were 4 Judges, 10 Presenters and 100 Attendees. Mrs. Helen Mary Fiaz from Biotechnology Department won this Competition while Mr. Naif Yaseen from Electrical Power Department was the Runner-up. Event was supervised by Dr. Jawad Saleem (IET OnCampus Facilitator) and organized by Team-IET

In Present Around The World Phase-II (PATW-II) winners of round one from different universities participated. Winners from NUST Islamabad, IST Islamabad, COMSATS Wah Campus and GIKI came to COMSATS Abbottabad for PATW-II. It was the joint efforts of Team IET under the guidance of Dr. Jawad Saleem. Participants performed very well and tackled the questions from the audience with confidence

Visit to RISE Lab (SMME) NUST Islamabad Pakistan

Students Of COMSATS Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus were invited by Dr.Yasar Ayaz(HOD SMME department /Principal Investigator at RISE lab and Research Center) on the Thursday 3rd May 2018.




      Dr.Yasar Ayaz admired the work key role of IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network society and invited the students of COMSATS Abbottabad for the visit during his last year visit to COMSATS Abbottabad.




    A detailed briefing about the work of lab and use of latest technology in the field of Robotics were given to students, Moreover students were witnessed about the different projects of RISE lab , the football team of robots , wheel chair for handicapped people , and various robotic projects.

   Besides of that CNC Machines, Modern techniques of makeup of 3D designs with Help of latest machines was introduced. For better Rescue operations the work on different robo helicopters was also introduced.


Dr.Yasar Ayaz himself led the visit of Students. He also announced the collaborative work of RISE lab and COMSATS Abbottabad in Various projects for the betterment of students and Extraordinary Projects in future.

Workshop on “Do Wonders”

April 10, 2019


IET OnCampus CUI Abbottabad Network collaborated with MASHAL Pakistan to execute this workshop at our Institute in a healthy environment to provide all necessary information about these full funded opportunities to the students. This event was held on
 November 17, 2017. The workshop was well attended. 

There were 80 participants (more or less) in the workshop while the workshop was planned for 60 participants. The participants were almost from all the semesters of Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical (Power, Electronics & Computer).

Some participants were from Master of Engineering in Electrical. The main honored for us that some of our teachers also attended workshop. It was the joint efforts of Team IET under the guidance of Dr. Jawad Saleem and Dr. Abdul Majid.
